Burgoo: Visual Merchandise Redesign Thesis

Concept

This is my thesis project that I used to graduate which garnered 1.0 grade. My goal is to research and redesign Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant.I used the first few months of the school year researching various key factors in the dining experience, possible changes to their visuals, etc.

After laying all the groundwork, I quickly worked making multiple design iterations that attempts to answer the brand's problems. With the help of my thesis adviser, we scraped all the weak designs and strengthen the ones with potential.

Once I arrived at the final design iteration, we are now tasked to incorporate various occasions/events to the restaurant's design.

With the design now close to being finalized, I now explored Unreal Engine 5's capability of delivering Virtual Reality presentations, it took a month or so learning and finally arrived with this.I presented it to the panel and they were ecstatic because of the innovation.

For the advertisement posters, I made Burgoo's barrel table the focal point of the campaign materials. I wanted to give the barrel various roles (e.g Valentine's, Halloween) just as a play to personify the barrel table.For the promotional posters, I went with focusing on Burgoo's slogan "It's always a family treat!" supplementing it with the family celebrity The Kramer Family and of course the mouthwatering food offered by Burgoo (Photographed by me).

Finally, for the food photography, I stayed close to Burgoo's rustic but homely feel with the set design. While the food itself was cooked by my mother and assisted me with the food presentation.

Kojie-san Campaign

Concept

Our class was instructed to create an advertising campaign concept for the assigned brands for each team.Our team was given the brand Kojie-san, a beauty soap mainly used for whitening, alleviating ageing marks, fixing visible sun damage.The challenge however is how to convey Kojie-san's message to its market without being just the standard "whitening product". With that goal in mind, we position it as a product that empowers women's innate beauty, therefore the slogan "This is my real beauty".

We were also tasked to conceptualize an event for the brand using the campaign we developed.I spearheaded the overall 3D design of the event while my team organizes the scheduling and logistics.

Furthermore, I also made animated/moving posters for Out-of-Home advertisement, we wanted it to be unique to help differentiate the brand to its competitors.

These are what my other teammates did. We also conceptualized a lenticular print where if you are in a certain angle, it's a different image. We used this to show the benefits and effect of Kojie-san.

LALA Packaging Design

Concept

We were instructed to redesign a packaging of our chosen food brand and I chose LALA Chocolate.I went with a luxury approach as opposed to the original design of lala chocolate which has a vintage feel due to them not changing their design since their conception.We were also tasked to create a couple of advertisements for the new packaging.

Annie's Packaging Design

Concept

For this project, we are tasked to create a special promotion packaging for the brand Annie's.Since the target market for this brand are kids and parents, I went with the collaboration of Minions and Annie's to garner the attention of kids and increase sales and market.

Principles of Design Posters

This is one of my personal projects in my downtime. I decided to conceptualize posters with the subject of Principles of Design and used the Swiss style art direction.

Portfolio Magazine

Concept

For this project, we were tasked to create our own magazine together with our own work.I went with the fairly minimalistic and futuristic style. While for the copy, I made it to look like a journal entry.

Skechers 3D Adverisement

Concept

I was following a tutorial of Derek Elliot on modelling and texturing shoes.I decided to model my daily driver, Skechers GoWalk 6 and made a conceptual Skechers Advertisement.
